Dharana – Concentration Or Single Focus

This is the practice of sitting and focusing on an object, being free from attachment to feeling emotion.

One of the simplest ways to experience dharana is to sit and focus on a candle flame. Other ways may be to fix the mind on a chakra, body part or picture, this brings our mind to one specific point.

Remaining in a state of Dharana through out the day, quietens the mind, keeps one “in the zone” and completing the tasks at hand.

Dharana prepares us to step into easy, fluid meditations.
